“Against the stupidity, gods themselves fight in vain”. Friedrich Von Schiller
The XX Century was a polyhedric time. The World War II horrors arose some philosophical questions around the nature of human being. Humanity spent half of the century searching for the origin of Evil, trying to find and assume new causes after a so abject period, the reason of a paradoxical century in wich, as said by George Steiner in the dialogue with Antoine Spire in an interesting small book of the Workshop of Mario Muchnik (The brutality of ignorance, is read at once and leaves you with a feeling of being immense), “is possible to play Schubert at night and march in the morning to face your duties at the concentration camp. Nor the great reading, the music, neither the art were able to prevent the total brutality”.
Pd. If you are interested on the issue, you are still on time to see Idiota at Teatro Pavón Kamikaze until October 30. A caustic and sharpened thriller on stupidity and human being. Really worthy.
